Hunting for a place to eat

The men return from their last lecture close to 8pm, and, although we're all tired, we arrange to meet at 8.30pm to find a place to eat in the now quite frigid air outside. Carlota, Abel, Sergio, Frank, Oswaldo and I straggle along past the chosen venue, which turns out to be full, forging ahead to find another suitable place. Many are discarded until a faute de mieux we just decide to enter a small dark green restaurant and lay our fate in their hands. While we wait for our tortellita de camarones, which turns out to be delicious, the energetic voice of Michel BublĂ© with a big band suddenly blasts from the sound system  - disheartening us - but soon they switch to a softer Brazilian repertoire and, when the food arrives, we realize we lucked out. All is delicious. The wine
- the main course, which in our case is a fresh cod with fabulous mustard sauce, and the desserts - we all share a sample platter
Then we put Sergio in charge of retracing our steps through the narrow, now much livelier alleys, so that we can go to bed and be ready for another day in this lovely city.

  1. Oh Siri, what a lucky duck you are with the weather!! Cold it may be, but absolutely stunningly crisp clear day broken up by wonderful food and wine. You make us envious even though we are here in Oaxaca. Seville is SOOOOO beautiful!
